Tomie’s Cuisine background
I have been a Chef for over 8 years now and I started my career as a Chef in Japan at 23. However, I moved to the UK a year after to study for a B.A. in Food and Professional Cookery in London.
I started working as a Chef because I wanted to get professional knowledge of food and to be able to cook safer and healthier tasty food for my picky French husband (boyfriend at that time). I don't think I am a proper health geek but am always trying to improve in any way I can.
So, last year I decided to change my lifestyle to be more eco-friendly. Of course, I can’t just change everything at once because it would generate a lot of waste and would not be ecological. And to top it off... It would cost a lot.
Therefore, I decided to start with the kitchen! My favourite room in the flat :-)

On this blog, we are going to post about our journey to become more eco-friendly one step at a time. You will see…
- Some of my favourite (new and not so new) kitchen related products.
- There might be the odd travel blog post about the local food that we had at the time.
- And of course, we will talk about our favourite recipes and cooking tips which are going to be mostly based on Japanese and French cuisine - since we are Japanese and French :-)
