In November, we posted our Overherd oat milk powder review. This post is the second part, and it’s all about the recipe drinks using oat milk powder.

We tried overherd oat milk powder in different ways and made those three easy recipes for winter to warm you up.

Because of the powdered oat milk, these recipes are also suitable for outdoor activities. We wrote about it in our previous post about Overherd oat milk powder; check it out!

Matcha latte (serves 1)

Matcha is known as a great source of antioxidants. I also love having this in the morning because of its bright green colour.

  • 2 to 3 teaspoons of Matcha powder (3 to 4 grams)
  • A scoop of Overherd oat milk powder
  • 200ml of hot water
  • Your choice of sweetener.

  1. Place the matcha powder and Overherd oat milk powder into a mug
  2. Pour hot water little by little while stirring.
  3. Add your choice of sweetener to the finish.

Spicy hot chocolate (serves 1)

I made this hot chocolate last winter to warm us up. My husband loves hot chocolate, so I wanted to add spices to get more benefits from it. Once you take a sip, it’ll make you warm from your stomach. Our winter essential drink!

  • Cocoa powder
  • A scoop of Overherd oat milk powder
  • 200ml water
  • Ginger
  • Black peppercorn
  • Birdeye chilli
  • Cardamon
  • Your choice of sweetener

  1. Put cocoa powder into a mug.
  1. Add Overherd oat milk powder and water into a small saucepan and mix well.
  2. Add all the spices and start to heat it to bring it to a simmer.
  1. Pour it into the mug with a tea strainer.
  2. Mix well and finish with the sweetener.

Super simple pumpkin soup (serves 2 to 3)

It’s a simple but sweet and creamy warm soup. Adding spices would be lovely, but today, it’s just onion koji to give it a great nutrient and umami flavour.

  • Chopped pumpkin 600g
  • Water 500ml
  • Onion koji 3 tbsp
  • A scoop of Overherd oat milk powder

  1. Place the chopped pumpkin into a pot with 500ml of water. Put the lid on and start with high heat. Once it starts boiling, lower the heat and cook until the pumpkin gets soft.
  1. Add onion koji and bring to simmer for 5 minutes.
  1. Add oat milk powder and blend it with a hand blender until smooth.
  2. Add more water to make it thinner if it’s too thick.

Closing words

Here, we have three warm recipes we enjoyed making with Overherd oat milk powder.

It's been freezing in the UK recently, and quite a few people around me got sick. Please make sure to keep yourself warm. xx
